Competition Rules & Terms and Conditions

1. Competition Dates

• Opens: 17 July 2026
• Closes: 2 August 2026 (11:59 p.m.)
• Winners Announced: 8 August 2026

Heritage Trailz reserves the right to amend these dates where reasonably necessary.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Competition is designed as a family experience for children aged 8–12 years participating with a parent or legal guardian.

2.2 The Competition is open to both residents and visitors to the British Virgin Islands.

2.3 A parent or legal guardian must complete the Competition registration on behalf of each child.

2.4 Every user entering the Competition must have their own Heritage Trailz account.

2.5 Each registered Heritage Trailz account may submit one competition entry during the competition period.

2.6 If a user completes more than one eligible Heritage Trailz tour during the competition period, they may choose which tour to use for their single competition entry.

3. Registration

3.1 Registration must be completed before purchasing an eligible Heritage Trailz tour or submitting a competition entry.

3.2 During registration, the parent or legal guardian must:

• confirm they are the child's parent or legal guardian (or have authority to provide consent);
• accept these Competition Terms & Conditions; and
• accept responsibility for the child's participation and supervision.

3.3 Optional consent may be provided for Heritage Trailz to use competition submissions for future marketing and promotional purposes.

4. Competition Entry

4.1 Registration for the Competition does not by itself make a user eligible to submit a competition entry. Before submitting a competition entry, each user must either:

• purchase an eligible Heritage Trailz tour; or
• have an eligible Heritage Trailz tour shared with them.

4.2 Every competition entry must include:

• the name "Heritage Trailz";
• two interesting facts learned during the adventure;
• their favourite place visited during the tour; and
• one reason others should try a Heritage Trailz adventure.

4.3 Competition entries may be submitted in any of the accepted creative formats published by Heritage Trailz.

4.4 Parents or legal guardians may assist; however, the final competition entry must clearly reflect the child's own creativity and ideas, be appropriate for a child aged 8–12 years, and must not use AI tools to generate the content.

5. Facebook Requirements

To be eligible for judging, users must:

• post their competition entry on their Facebook profile;
• make the competition post public;
• tag the Heritage Trailz Facebook Page;
• use the official competition hashtag #HeritageTrailzBVI;
• like the Heritage Trailz Facebook Page; and
• submit the link to their Facebook post through the Heritage Trailz website before the competition closes.

Users may edit their Facebook post before the competition closing date.

6. Judging

6.1 Competition entries will be judged using the published judging criteria.

6.2 All accepted creative formats will be judged equally.

6.3 The judges' interpretation of each competition entry and all judging decisions are final.

7. Prizes

The Competition prizes are:

• First Prize: US$150
• Second Prize: US$50 and one free solo Heritage Trailz tour
• Third Prize: One free solo Heritage Trailz tour

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Winners will be announced on 8 August 2026 via the Heritage Trailz website and Facebook page.

Winners will also be contacted using the email address registered to their Heritage Trailz account.

If a winner does not respond within 7 days, Heritage Trailz reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

8. Content

8.1 Competition entries must be the original work of the child. Parents or legal guardians may provide reasonable assistance; however, the final competition entry must clearly reflect the child's own creativity and ideas and must not use AI tools to generate the content.

8.2 Entries must not contain unlawful, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, inappropriate or copyrighted material belonging to another person, or content generated using AI tools.

8.3 Heritage Trailz reserves the right to remove, reject or disqualify any competition entry that does not comply with these Competition Terms & Conditions.

8.4 Where optional consent has been provided during registration, Heritage Trailz may use submitted photos, videos, written entries and other competition content for future marketing and promotional purposes.

9. Changes to the Competition

Heritage Trailz reserves the right to make reasonable changes to these Competition Terms & Conditions, the Competition FAQs, judging process, prizes, or competition schedule where necessary.

Any significant changes will be published on the Heritage Trailz website.

10. General

10.1 Participation in the Competition is also subject to the Heritage Trailz Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer, available on the Heritage Trailz website.

10.2 Heritage Trailz reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Competition where reasonably necessary.

10.3 These Competition Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the British Virgin Islands.
