Competition FAQs

The competition is open to families with children aged 8–12 years. A parent or legal guardian must register on behalf of each child and is responsible for supervising the child throughout the Heritage Trailz experience. Families may participate using either an individual or shared Heritage Trailz tour.

Yes. Every user entering the competition must have their own Heritage Trailz account before registering. You can create a free account here.

You should register before purchasing your tour so you receive your 50% discount code.

Registration is open throughout the competition period. However, you must register, purchase (or receive a shared tour), complete your tour, and submit your competition entry before the competition closes on 2 August 2026.

Yes. As long as you have your own Heritage Trailz account and complete the competition registration, you are eligible to submit your own competition entry.

You do not need to purchase your own tour if an eligible Heritage Trailz tour has been shared with you. .

That's absolutely fine. Registering for the competition simply reserves your place and provides your discount code.

To complete your entry, you must purchase (or receive a shared) eligible Heritage Trailz tour, and submit your competition entry before the closing date.

If you don't submit your competition entry before the closing date, you will not be entered into the judging process.

Yes. After registering for the competition, you must purchase an eligible Heritage Trailz tour using your registration discount code, or have an eligible tour shared with you, before submitting your competition entry.

Tours can be shared when you purchase a shared tour option. The number of users you can share with depends on the tour option selected.

To share a tour:

1. Purchase a shared tour option.

2. Open your tour from My Tours.

3. Select Share.

4. Enter and confirm the email address of each user.

5. Each user will receive an email invitation.

Each user must create a Heritage Trailz account using the same email address the tour was shared with, accept the applicable Heritage Trailz Terms of Use and Disclaimer, and sign in to access the tour. Shared tours will appear in My Tours.

The promo code can only be used when purchasing a Heritage Trailz tour through the Heritage Trailz website or the Heritage Trailz Android app.

If you purchase your tour on the website or Android app, you can then sign in to your Heritage Trailz account on any supported device, including an Apple (iOS) device, to access and use your tour.

Your Heritage Trailz tour is available for 5 days from the date of purchase.

You must complete your tour during this 5-day access period. However, you may submit your competition entry at any time before the competition closing date, provided your competition entry is based on your completed tour.

Each registered Heritage Trailz account may submit one competition entry. If you complete more than one eligible Heritage Trailz tour, you may choose which tour to use for your competition entry.

For shared tours, each user must have their own Heritage Trailz account and complete the competition registration to submit their own competition entry.

For example:

• Solo Tour = 1 eligible competition entry
• Tour for 2 = Up to 2 eligible competition entries
• Tour for 3 = Up to 3 eligible competition entries
• Tour for 4 = Up to 4 eligible competition entries

Every competition entry must include:

• The name "Heritage Trailz"
• Two interesting facts learned during your adventure
• Your favourite place visited during the tour
• One reason why others should try a Heritage Trailz adventure

Competition entries may be submitted in any of the following formats:

• 🎥 Video
• 📖 Short Story or Poem
• 🎨 Artwork
• 📸 Photo Collage

All accepted formats will be judged equally. Entries should be brief and take no more than approximately one minute to view, watch or read.

Yes. Parents or guardians may assist. However, the final competition entry should clearly reflect the child's own creativity and ideas and be appropriate for a child aged 8–12 years. Entries must be the original work of the child and must not use AI tools to generate the content. The judges' interpretation of each entry and all judging decisions are final.

No. The Family Activity Sheet is completely optional. It is provided to make your Heritage Trailz adventure even more fun and does not need to be completed or submitted with your competition entry.

No. Only your competition post needs to be public so that Heritage Trailz can view and judge your competition entry.

After creating your competition entry:

• Create a Facebook post featuring your competition entry.
  • Make the post public.
  • Tag the Heritage Trailz Facebook Page.
  • Use the official hashtag #HeritageTrailzBVI.
• Like the Heritage Trailz Facebook Page.
• Submit the link to your Facebook post through the Heritage Trailz website.

Yes. You may edit your Facebook post at any time before the competition closes on 2 August 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Only one competition entry can be submitted. If you wish to make changes, simply edit the same Facebook post originally submitted. Please ensure it remains public and continues to meet all competition entry requirements.

Entries will be judged out of 50 points using the following criteria:

• Creativity & Originality — 20 points
• Presentation — 15 points
• Inclusion of all required entry elements — 15 points

All accepted creative formats will be judged equally. The judges' decision is final.

• First Prize: US$150
• Second Prize: US$50 and one free solo Heritage Trailz tour
• Third Prize: One free solo Heritage Trailz tour

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Winners will be announced on 8 August 2026 via the Heritage Trailz website and Facebook page. Winners will also be contacted directly using the email address registered to their Heritage Trailz account.

If a winner does not respond within 7 days, Heritage Trailz reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

If you have not been contacted by Heritage Trailz within 7 days of the winner announcement date, please assume that your competition entry was unsuccessful.

Only if you choose to give optional consent during registration. If consent is provided, Heritage Trailz may use your submitted photos, videos, artwork, written entries and other competition content for future marketing and promotional purposes.
